The effect of pump-signal noise amplitude modulation on the characteristics of a single-circuit parametric amplifier is examined. A matrix chain fraction method allows the usual limitations on the noise intensity and correlation time to be done away with. The amplifier noise characteristics are investigated as functions of system Q, the signal and noise characteristics of the input process, and the pump-noise intensity and correlation time over wide ranges of those parameters. The range and rate of convergence of the method are estimated.
