Solar Activity Cycles: Cosmic Rays, Solar Activity Cycles: Dynamics
Scientific paper
The longitudinal asymmetry of the solar activity distribution and the dynamics of its behavior during the 11-year solar cycle were studied. It was shown that the 27-day variation amplitude both in cosmic rays and in the geomagnetic index Ap displayed a sharp drop near the maximum of the 22nd solar cycle in spite of the high level of solar activity at that time. The connection of the bimodal structure in the 27-day cosmic rays variation with the influence of the longitudinal distribution asymmetry of solar activity manifesting itself at different heliolatitudes has been established.
