An analysis is made of the rotation of a conducting satellite with an arbitrary ellipsoid of inertia and an arbitrary tensor of polarizability under the effect of a moment from eddy currents induced in the conducting shell of the satellite by the geomagnetic field. Equations for slow variables are derived for the nonresonant case, and steady-state regimes in the satellite motion are found. It is noted that the derived equations can be used to study the tidal evolution of the rotations of celestial bodies in the case when the tidal-moment tensor is nonspherical.
