The standing shock wave in the interplanetary medium which limits the supersonic flow region of the solar wind has a significant effect on galactic-cosmic-ray modulation and may be a source of low-energy particles in the heliosphere. This is due to the regular acceleration of cosmic rays near the shock front. The acceleration process is analyzed numerically in an energy range corresponding to possible sources of particles injected at the front.
