We obtained a blue spectrum, and optical photometry of the polar EF Eri in 2001 March. We have combined these data with 2MASS photometry to examine the nature of its primary and secondary stars. The mass transfer rate in EF Eri is currently so low, that the white dwarf primary is clearly visible down to λ ~4300Å. The 2MASS data suggest that the secondary star is probably an L4V. 2MASS has detected the very late-type companions in a large number of CV systems.
