SVOM is a Chinese-French mission, to be launched in late 2013 on a Low Earth Orbit (h = 630 km, i = 30°). ECLAIRs will provide the Gamma-Ray Burst (GRB) triggers to the narrow field instruments on board SVOM and on the ground. ECLAIRs will detect GRBs between 4 keV and 250 keV. This makes ECLAIRs particularly sensitive to high redshift GRBs and nearby low luminosity events. This paper presents the main characteristics of ECLAIRs, its architecture, as well as its estimated performance.
