The lecture describes the structure, thermal regime and chemical properties of the different layers of the Earth's atmosphere. The strong influence of minor gaseous components on the physical state of atmosphere is noticed, despite of low relative concentration of these gases (parts of percent). The solid and liquid particles layers, their formation and observational effects are also described. The atmospheric optical events are listed.
