Scientific paper

The results of the moderate resolution spectroscopy of the nova V458 Vul between the 9 and 24 days after the outburst are reported. The analysis of the spectra shows the rapid variability (during three days) of the intensity and the line profiles. We believe that the nova probably belongs to the hybrid nova according to Williams' spectroscopic classification scheme.
