Data on ipcl irregular long-period (3-7 min) geomagnetic pulsations are used to study the behavior of the daytime polar cusp. An analysis of the diurnal variations of the frequency of occurrence of ipcl at high-latitude geophysical stations has disclosed a UT-dependence of the latitude drift of the daytime cusp. Using the deviation of the diurnal maximum of the ipcl from geomagnetic noon, it is possible to determine station shift relative to the cusp, and thus to determine the latitude of the cusp itself. This makes it possible to determine diurnal as well as seasonal latitude drift of the cusp and, with appropriate corrections, to determine cusp shift as a function of solar activity.
