The outflows from young stars (YSO's) provide a laboratory for the study of shocks, shock dynamics, shock chemistry, flow collimation and flow generation mechanisms. They can also provide a snapshot of the mass-ejection history of the driving sources. We are proposing to observe both molecular and continuum emission for two outflow sources, GGD30 and AFGL 4176, using HCO+ 1-0 as the trace molecule. This offers the possibility of determining the molecular velocity structure of the outflow, the location of the driving source (in the case of GGD30), the orientation of the outflow axis, and to look for evidence of shock chemistry (i.e. pre-shock enhancements of HCO+).
