Calculations of the transit velocities and times of the center of mass of a flare-related magnetic cloud from the sun to earth orbit are calculated for various flare positions with respect to the heliospheric current sheet and for various inclinations of this sheet to the plane of the solar equator. A powerful deceleration of the clouds is found as they propagate through a heliospheric streamer and the eastern periphery of the heliospheric current sheet.
