The three-dimensional numerical MHD simulation of a sub-Alfvenic plasma jet in the longitudinal magnetic field demonstrated that the jet "moves apart" magnetic field lines, forming an adiabatic trap configuration with a field minimum at the axis. The jet is generated when plasma flows out of the source due to the pressure gradient. Energy is lost by the jet mainly for forming the diamagnetic cavity and also for entrainment of the surrounding plasma in motion. Ahead of the jet front, a wave of rarefraction is discovered. At altitudes of 100 - 200 km the plasma jet decay is mainly determined by the charge exchange on the neutral gas.
