Very Large Telescopes: Telescope Mounts

Scientific paper

The authors present a new mounting concept for very large telescopes.
The rationale for such a concept is given as well as details of its
mechnical design. Finite element calculations prove that the lowest
resonant frequencies are to be in the range from 6 to 9 Hz for the
manufactured structure.
