The nonlinear growth of density perturbations in an unstable cold dark matter dominated universe is investigated numerically. It is shown that the decaying cold dark matter scenario is successful in solving both the Ω-problem and the galaxy formation problem. In order for baryon density perturbations to become nonlinear (δb=1) before Z=4, it suffices that the amplitude of density contrast of dark matter with life time between 1015 and 1017 s is only more than ~ (2-5)×10-3 at the time of recombination of matter and radiation. This conclusion is essentially based on the rapid growth of density perturbations in a nonlinear evolutionary stage.
