NGC4649 is one of the best galaxies to compare dynamical models as derived from stars, globular clusters, planetary nebulae and X-ray gas. We propose to obtain kinematics of 150 globular clusters beyond a few effective radii. The datasets for NGC4649 are excellent for dynamical studies, with high spatial-resolution kinematics of the central regions and high signal-to-noise X-ray data. For galaxies like NGC4649, the black hole mass measure can be biased low about 2-3x when not including a dark halo in the models. There is also concern that the X-ray data may not adequately trace the gravitational potential. Thus, the proposed dataset will offer unique and important checks for determination of black hole mass, dark halo, X-ray properties, and orbital structure.
