Scientific paper

The authors study the 3-D modelling of formation of triaxial galaxies based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamics. A triaxial model is used for the initial protogalaxy. The protogalaxy body is modelled by a triaxial ellipsoid. The initial velocity field is specified by the initial angular velocity Ω0. The total angular momentum coincides with none of the semiaxes. Therefore, the initial velocity field can be given as V0(x,y,z) = [Ω0×r]. The authors discuss a series of models of the isothermal and adiabatic collapse of gaseous protogalaxies.
