Based on the analysis of the possible ways of solving the element-phasing problem for the composite main mirrors of large telescopes, it is shown that this can be done by the aperture-probe method. Expressions are obtained for the sharpness function in the adaptive phase-control mode of the separate subapertures. A version is proposed for dynamic phasing of the elements of a composite main mirror, with spatial seperation of the channels where the mismatch signals are formed.
