A continental baseline interferometer at 6.0 and 18.0 cm has been used to obtain Very Long Baseline Interferometer (VLBI) observations of ten sources whose spectra indicate that they may consist of a single component. An attempt was made to determine whether the integrated spectral shapes of the sources were due to the spectral properties of a single dominant component or to the superposition of several components that become optically thick at different frequencies. Two of the sources, 0202 + 31 and 2134 + 00, apparently possess structures consisting of more than one component, implying that the spectral shape is due to subcomponent superposition. The VLBI observations for the remaining sources are consistent with the model derived from the source spectrum, and do not indicate the existence of two or more spatially separated subcomponents.
