The present paper deals with the results of studies carried out within a
program aimed at investigating the interactions between multiply charged
primary cosmic-ray nuclei and emulsion nuclei at energies ranging from
0.1 to 1 GeV/nucleon. Particular attention is given to the production of
fast helium nuclei in these interactions.
