The first results on speckle interferometry from the point of view of a high-level amateur research are reported. The observations were made at Pic du Midi Observatory, France, using a 60 cm Newtonian telescope. The authors demonstrate that this telescope and his associated instrumentation are capable of carrying out successfully precise measures of close double stars by means of speckle interferometry. Forty-four measurements are presented.
