The diurnal and seasonal variations in the sporadic radio meteor rates as observed by the VHF backscatter radar at 33.85 MHz, built and installed at Waltair, are reported. The diurnal meteor rates exhibit a sinusoidal trend with an early morning peak and evening trough during each month. The diurnal variations of the radio meteor rates during some of the major meteor shower periods are discussed.
