Scientific paper

A theoretical study is presented of the disturbance of electron temperature and collision frequency of the ambient plasma by intense radio waves from spaceborne transmitters. A formula is presented for the minimum transmitter power under which the disturbance of electron temperature is first noticeable. Both the steady and unsteady disturbance problems are solved, taking into account heat transfer. The role of the integral disturbance of the plasma by a sequence of radio pulses is examined, and the effect of the magnetic field is discussed.
