A theoretical study is presented of the disturbance of the geomagnetic field at the interface by a broad ocean flow in an anomalous magnetic field under the assumption that the bottom is nonconducting. A relationship is established linking the induced-magnetic-field distribution, the spatial distribution of the external magnetic field, and the flow profile.
