The following conclusions have been made on the basis of a statistical analysis of 16945 prominences registered during 1934 - 1947: 1. The maximum of the height distribution takes place at the intervals 20 - 30″and 30 - 40″for low-latitude and high-latitude prominences, respectively. 2. The maximum size of an individual prominence is smaller in solar cycle 18 than that in solar cycle 17 although the mean annual value of daily frequency of prominences is essentially larger in solar cycle 18 (9.5) than in solar cycle 17 (7.0). 3. The fraction of high-latitude prominences was large at the increasing phase of the solar cycle and small at the decreasing phase. It varied within 18 to 51%.
