Interstellar absorption distribution is investigated in the direction of the star formation region 2 Mon (l = 207 + or 2.5 deg; b = - 3 + or - 2.5 deg). Mean curves of interestellar absorption are obtained for seven areas in the investigated region using two methods with different averaging schemes. It is shown that the direction studied is characterized by low mean absorption (1.2-1.4 m/kpc) within the local spiral arm and by the presence of dense interstellar clouds in regions near the galactic plane.
