The characteristics of long-period comets (P greater than 200 years) detected in different phases of the 11-year solar cycle are examined. It is shown that there exists a group of comets which manifest high activity after the maximum of the 11-year cycle and which differ greatly from the total set of long-period comets with respect to a whole series of parameters. It is suggested that this group of comets may be connected with Jupiter.
