When allowance is made for the influence of dissipative effects upon the perturbation dynamics in gravitationally stable gaseous subsystems of flat galaxies, it is found that the Jeans branch of perturbations will decay. Radial entropic perturbations (with an eigenfrequency omega = 0 in the dissipation-free limit) and nonaxisymmetric gradient perturbations in such models will be dissipatively unstable in a wavelength region comparable with the Jeans wavelength.
