Cosmology: Inflationary Universe
Scientific paper
The present model is a generalization of the model of Freese et al. (1987) by the inclusion of a dissipative term which results in avoiding the initial singularity and incorporates particle production. It starts exponentially from a non-singular hot origin in the infinite past and expands more and more slowly and finally reduces to the Murphy model (1973) in the matter dominated phase of evolution. It is found that the inclusion of vacuum energy lengthens the period of inflation in the early stages of evolution which may be instrumental in solving horizon, flatness or monopole problems.
