[1] Strongest energy releases on the Sun are manifested as coronal mass ejections and solar flares. They are driven by subphotospheric thermal and electromagnetic energy fluxes. We consider recent examples showing that their heliospheric and magnetospheric consequences could be similar or rather different from case to case. Common and specific features can be expressed and delimited when using dimensionless parameters. A universal geometry scenario for these processes does not exist.
