The Nearby Supernova Factory reports the discovery of supernova SNF20051119-004 (coordinates RA 08:34:11.15 DEC +06:16:34.9 J2000.0) in images obtained November 19.5 UT at an approximate magnitude of 19.2 (calibrated to R) using the QUEST II camera on the Palomar Oschin 48-inch telescope as a part of the JPL Near-Earth Asteroid Tracking component of the Palomar Consortium. A spectrum (range 320-1000 nm) of this target, obtained November 25.5 UT with the Supernova Integral Field Spectrograph on the University of Hawaii 2.2-meter telescope, shows it to be a Type Ia supernova approximately one week past maximum at a redshift of z ~ 0.072.
