The characteristics of the star Tau Sco, HD149438, spectral type B0 V are examined, taking into account the strong presence of O(5+) and N(4+) ions in the outer layers of the star. It is pointed out that the presence of a high temperature region, called a corona, in analogy to the solar case, around early type stars may provide the clue to the understanding of mass loss from hot stars.
