In the presence of field-aligned currents, a magnetic field may have no continuous Euler potentials alpha and beta though physics quantities B and A are continuous. As a consequence, the standard canonic equations for particle drift motion may fail to apply in the area adjacent to the alpha and beta-discontinuity area. As an example, we inspect the Euler potentials and the particle drift motion in a magnetic field resulted from combining a 2D dipole with the field produced by two circular currents.
