Experimental evidence concerning the production of charm particles by high-energy (200-400 GeV) accelerator protons in nuclear emulsions is reviewed. Experimental results from the Niu group, the Kusumoto group, the Lebedev group, and European collaborations are presented. Data indicate agreement that charm production cross sections are in the range 10-30 micro-b at 400 GeV and that charm production times are approximately 5 x 10 to the -13th sec at this energy.
