An analysis is made of the behavior of a saturated internal gravity wave
whose amplitude is determined by the difference between its phase
velocity and the mean wind velocity. Expressions are obtained for the
vertical and horizontal diffusion coefficients of an internal gravity
wave in the middle atmosphere.
