There has been extensive technological progress in the last decade in performing diffusion experiments on minerals in solid-media, high-pressure (HP) apparatus. A database is presented which includes all extant data at pressures above 1GPa. Measurements of activation volumes for the diffusion of silicon and divalent cations are compared for (FexMg1-x)O, quartz, olivine and its HP polymorphs (wadsleyite and ringwoodite), garnets and magnesium silicate perovskite.
