Energy dependence of gamma-ray diffusion characteristics is investigated for energies from 50 to 5000 MeV, latitudes from -10 to +10 degrees, and with averaging over longitude regions of 312-332, 355-15, 16-36 degrees. It is confirmed that the diffusion coefficient varies as energy (E), rather than as E to the 1/2, which conforms to a previous analysis (1974) for scattering off spheres of varying diameters. The results obtained point to the presence of large-scale magnetic irregularities in the interstellar matter, in contrast to the topography of the field in a very local region where anisotropy studies indicate a smooth magnetic field.
