Diffusion and acceleration of charged particles in a compressible turbulent medium is considered. The nonlocal equation for the distribution function is obtained, and the diffusivities in space and in momentum space are calculated for the case of weak and strong turbulence (expressed in terms of the velocity, correlation time, and spatial scale of the turbulence R0). It is shown that the space diffusivity may be negative. This means that particles may spontaneously be gathered together in clusters with the scale about equal to R0. The rate of the energy increase of the particles is calculated. The radiation energy losses are taken into account. The observed large gamma-ray flux from interstellar molecular clouds is explained as being due to the large concentration of cosmic rays in these clouds because of their negative diffusion.
