Experimental results are presented on radio-wave scattering by electron-density irregularities in the F-region disturbed by pulsed short-wave transmissions at a frequency of 4785 kHz and an effective power of 150 MW. It is shown that transverse (with respect to the geomagnetic field) irregularities with a scale of 3 m develop over a characteristic time of 0.2-0.3 sec. As the pulse duration of the pumping wave increases from 100 millisec to 10 sec, the scattering cross section increases by more than 20 dB.
