A precision mirror fiducializing system for use in large optics fabrication has been developed and demonstrated. The arrangement is compatible with Perkin-Elmer's Computer Controlled Polishing (CCP) facility and Coaxial Reference Interferometer (CORI). The absolute position of figure errors on the mirror surface can be determined through measurements on the interferogram to within 1-mm on mirrors in the 1-2 meter diameter range.
