Scientific paper

The paper examines problems involving the determination of the time intervals and dates of critical solar-illumination conditions for the operation of spacecraft instruments. The solution to these problems is based on methods employing the transformation of vector conditions of critical illumination to trigonometric inequalities. Cases of elliptical, circular, and stationary satellite orbits are considered.
