The paper deals with the determination of the vector of state for a Martian entry in the case where navigational information is provided by a probe ejected from the vehicle. The physical conditions are examined. The problem of determining the state vector is formulated, and algorithms for solving the problem are proposed. The effectiveness of the algorithms in the presence of various disturbing factors is assessed on the basis of numerical results.
