The paper describes the main characteristics of the Malakhit instrument, designed to measure the chemical composition of the gaseous and aerosol components of the Venus atmosphere. Descriptions are given of the instrument operation, the collector-pyrolizer, and the calibration. A mass spectrum of aerosol in the Venus cloud layer at heights of 63-52 km is presented.
