A gravity signal was detected by a superconducting gravimeter at Brussels after the December 30, 1983 Hindukush earthquake. This signal had an amplitude of 11 nGal and a period of 13.9 h and was identified as an inertial gravity oscillation in the Earth's core. Analysis of data from another superconducting gravimeter at Bad Homburg, Germany, 320 km distant does not support the observation at Brussels.
