Many searches have been made for particles which compose the dark matter(dm) of the universe. There have been no positive results and we speculate that the velocities of the dm may not have sufficient energies to produce an ionization or photon signal in the detectors being employed. We have examined the speculation that genetic changes in DNA could be produced by dm energy exchanges as low as 0.5 eV. Preliminary genetic searches were reported earlier (J. Lord and P. Kotzer, Bull. Am. Phys. Soc. Vol 42, 1048 (1997)) and new search techniques involving Gene Chips will be described.
