It is found that drift-time measurements of the solar diameter made at Izana, Tenerife, and Locarno, Switzerland, during 1990-1992 show a significant increase of the observed angular semidiameter when compared to results obtained at the same sites in 1981. The observed increase of about 0.4 arsec is not due to a systematic or long-term variation, but reflects a more complicated behavior over time. It is argued that a variation in phase with solar activity can be ruled out.
