The paper gives a detailed analysis of the alignment requirements, the design concepts, and tuning procedure of the Optical Telescope Assembly of the LST spacecraft. Central consideration is the thermal changes that can occur subsequent to arrival of the structure on station. Thus, manufactured truss element dimensions had to be designed with maximum anticipated thermal changes in mind.
