Calculations obtained on the basis of the model of Boyadjian et al. (1981) are discussed. The dependence of Ne on atmospheric depth is calculated for showers produced by a primary nucleon and nucleus with A-10; and the dependence of the number of muons with energy exceeding 10 GeV on the primary energy for a height of 700 g/sq cm is presented. It is shown that in scaling models with allowance for complex chemical composition, it is possible to obtain mean EAS characteristics which do not differ much from experimentally measured characteristics.
