The relationship between proton fluxes from 1 to 3.5 AU from the sun and characteristics of the interplanetary medium (IM) is studied on the basis of Mars-7 and Pioneer-11 data. Variations of proton intensity are investigated in relation to the characteristics of the IM and the solar wind velocity. Proton intensity is found to increase with distance from the sun, a phenomenon which is believed to be caused by turbulent acceleration.
