Calculations are presented for determining the electron density distribution in nocturnal meteor trails with allowance for diffusion, attachment to neutral particles of meteor origin, and recombination with electron stabilization. It is shown that the combined effect of attachment and triple recombination leads to a sharp drop of electron density in meteor trails. Reaction constants for such processes are obtained.
