The Global Ultraviolet Imager (GUVI) on the TIMED spacecraft measures the far ultraviolet (FUV) radiance in five bands (HI 121.6 nm, OI 130.4 nm, OI 135.6 m, N2 LBH short 140 - 150 nm, N2 LBH long 165 - 180nm). The ratio between the OI 135.6 nm and N2 LBH long (165 - 180 nm) on the dayside is a direct measure of the O / N2 column density. The GUVI instrument scans cross-track through 127.2° producing an orbit swath ~2500 km across on the disk of the Earth. This produces a 2-dimensional map of O/N2 for each orbit. The O / N2 ratio inferred from the observations changes in direct response to storm-time conditions. Maps of individual colors show the changing O and N2 concentrations separately. An overview of the dayside observations to date will be presented along with interpretations of the changes observed in the O / N2.
